Our Business Story
About Siena
Hello and welcome! I’m Siena, a passionate Allied Health Assistant and third-year Bachelor of Speech Pathology student at Australian Catholic University. My journey into speech pathology began by being the big sister sitting in the corner of my little brothers Speech Therapy sessions as a child. From a young age, I was able to witness the real life impact that Speech Therapy can have on a child’s communication, and the lifelong functional impact that foundational speech therapy serves from a young age.
Currently studying while working hands-on with clients, I bring both academic knowledge and real-world experience to every session with my clients. I've had the privilege of working at an established Private Speech Pathology Clinic in Brendale for a year and a half, where I've developed my skills supporting diverse clients and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team under direct supervision from a qualified Speech Pathologist (Level 1 Therapy Assistant). Through my clinical placements and hands on work experience, I've worked with children and young people across various settings, developing my clinical skillset in intervention delivery, and building meaningful therapeutic relationships with my clients and their families that truly make a difference.
What drives me every day is witnessing those breakthrough moments. When a child forms a new sound, when that sound you’ve been targeting in therapy for weeks clicks in my clients communication, when families feel heard and supported and most of all, when my clients feel confident in their own communication. My Italian heritage has taught me the importance of connection, family, and community, which are all values that shape how I approach my work. I understand that communication is at the heart of everything we do, from sharing a personal story to expressing our wants and needs, and I'm deeply committed to helping people strengthen these essential skills with warmth, patience, and genuine care.
About The Practice
I established this independent AHA practice to address a gap I witnessed firsthand during my time working in the field: families who desperately need speech pathology support but face impossible waitlists or simply cannot afford standard private rates, yet don't qualify for NDIS funding. These families were being left behind, and I knew I could provide a platform of services to help.
This practice was born from a deep sense of purpose—to ensure that every family, regardless of their financial circumstances, has access to quality speech pathology support. Working under the supervision of qualified speech pathologists, I provide affordable allied health assistance to families who need it most. My practice focuses on delivering evidence-based intervention in a warm, supportive environment where every client feels valued and heard.
How My Practice Works
I operate as a Level 2 Therapy Assistant under NDIS and evidence-based guidelines, which means I deliver therapy interventions designed and supervised by qualified speech pathologists. This collaborative model ensures you receive safe, effective, evidence-based support while keeping costs accessible.
Here's how it works:
Assessment & Program Development
All clients are assessed by my supervising speech pathologist in Ashgrove. An SLP conducts comprehensive assessments and develops individualised therapy programs that guide my ongoing therapy sessions with your child. Your child’s progress and therapy session programs are reviewed mid-year and at the end of each year to ensure your child's goals remain current and achievable.
Ongoing Therapy Delivery by AHA
I deliver therapy sessions at a Clinic in Brendale, following the evidence-based program created by the Supervising SLP. Each session is tailored to your child's specific goals and needs, with activities and strategies designed to build communication skills in an engaging, supportive way.
Clinical Supervision
The SLP provides me with clinical supervision each school term in which consists of reviewing client progress, adjusting goals and strategies as needed, and ensuring I have the professional guidance to deliver the highest quality care to your child. This ongoing oversight means you benefit from speech pathologist expertise at an affordable rate.
Communication & Support
I provide regular progress updates throughout our work together, and parents can request additional consultation with my supervising SLP at any time. Any significant changes in your child's presentation will be discussed directly with my supervising speech pathologist.
This collaborative supervision model allows me to provide high-quality, evidence-based therapy while maintaining affordable rates (50-60% lower than standard speech pathology fees). You receive the benefit of speech pathologist expertise and oversight, delivered through consistent, personalized sessions focused on your child's unique communication journey.
Whether supporting children developing their speech and language skills, or helping clients work toward their communication goals, I'm here to walk alongside families on their journey with dedication and genuine care, making quality speech pathology support accessible to those who need it most.
